You are so childish considering with your age, look and the way you talk. Your logic and reasoning are not well organized ! You are mixing and mingling everything under one tree. Don't blame everything on your teachers. Surely the education system in Hong Kong is a big failure. Yet don't blame the system.
A good result of DSE or a strong English capacity is only part of the criteria and is definitely an entrance ticket to the beginning of academic success. Though this kind of result can only be achieved throughout your entire primary and secondly educational achievement. If you fall behind, it is simply you got lost half way through the system.
Having said that, success comes in many different shapes and forms. Don't give in to the system as you will come across similar hurdles everywhere in other systems in other countries. You just need to know the rues of the game in life; stay strong and walk your own path to success.
As per your English understanding – First of all, of course you would say "How are you?" and answer with " I am fine" in any English speaking country, stupid ! You are talking nonsense.
Secondly, a high score in English test certainly means a good understanding in English. If it was a high score in an IELTS test, that is simply a good indication of your English capacity in the 4 areas in which you were tested for.
English learning comes under many skills area such as "listening", "writing", "comprehension", "Oral", "grammar", "phonics", " public speaking" and more of the like as you progress. So the way how and why an English word sounds come under the teaching namely "Phonics". When a teacher is not teaching phonics, he does not have to explain why and how a word sounds. Unless he is teaching phonics. Make sense.
Finally, there are so much in life, nobody owes you nothing and nobody is responsible for telling you everything. Life sucks! Deal with it. You'll become better !
One thing you are right, be happy and enjoy what you do – that is the meaning of life.
